Job description Position Title: Dental Assistant/Treatment Coordinator Employee Status: Non-Exempt Reports to: Clinical Team Leader Job Summary: The Treatment Coordinator assists the doctor and administrative team to provide quality dental care in a safe and friendly environment. Cerec experience is a plus! Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty as listed below. Essential Duties: Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Treatment Coordinator/Dental Assistant • Must be a team player with an awesome attitude • Be fully trained to assist the Doctor on all dental procedures • Seat patients in the chair as soon as possible • Have Ohio Dental Radiographer License • Educate patients on all procedures to be done • Stock operatories and help other assistants keep rooms stocked • Chart thoroughly all procedures done using the S.O.A.P. format and document thoroughly what was said to the patient • Administrative support/front desk • Complete lab work on time (bleaching trays and study models) • Complete treatment plans and handoff to check-out for financial arrangements and presenting of treatment plans • Process and Sterilize instruments and equipment • CPR certified preferred • Keep work areas neat and organized • Pull lab cases for next day (crown and bridge, prosthetics, and bleaching trays) • Maintain the Autoclave • Follow the end of the day checklist • Assists with Laundry and keeping the staff Lounge clean and organized • Able to learn OpenDental practice management software Ability to maintain composure and professionalism when exposed to stressful situations. Knowledge of OSHA/HIPAA, Radiology, regulations, and changes. Knowledge of English composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation avoiding slang Ability to engender trust from the doctors, co-workers, and patients. Ability to work cooperatively with management, staff and patients. Ability to prioritize, organize and complete tasks in a timely and independent manner. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions and accept constructive criticism. Ability to collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and maintain confidentiality. Ability to communicate and express thoughts and ideas competently. Ability to quickly grasp relevant concepts regarding duties and responsibilities. Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent Special Requirements/Certifications/Licenses CPR (Current) preferred State of Ohio Dental Radiographers License Physical and Environmental Requirements: May be required to lift up to 25 lbs. Hand-eye coordination and hand, arm and finger mobility for detailed work with objects. May be required to physically assist drowsy patients after anesthesia Active movement throughout the day; sitting, walking, standing squatting, bending, stooping, reaching, etc. (not a sedentary position). Vision; Close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Hearing: able to satisfactorily communicate with patients, doctor and other staff members to ensure that verbal communication is clearly understood, particularly during emergency situations. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or operate equipment. May be required to administer CPR Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals and radiation. Exposure to moderate noise levels and hectic, fast-paced, high anxiety environments. Additional or different duties may be assigned occasionally at employers’ discretions. Position Details: Pay for this position is bi-weekly. Hours are set by the schedule, however some deviations may occur and will be identified prior. Ending time is after cleanup for the last patient day and set up for the next day Assists front office during down time Office scrubs are to be in a neat professional appearance and are laundered on site. Scrubs not on when arriving or leaving the office. Personal Protective Equipment is required to prevent exposure to hazardous materials/waste.
