Our office is looking for a several dental assistants.  These individuals will help the dentist with patient responsibilities and direct chair activities. We are willing to train. The ideal assistant is someone who is: • friendly and caring • team player but can function independently within office guidelines. • positive and always working to minimize stress within the office and for the patient • a great communicator with patients and team WORK HOURS The actual work hours will be determined in conversation with the person chosen. This may include either part-time or full-time. The office is open Monday through Saturdays. THE OFFICE Our dental practice is designed as a patient-focused rather than treatment focused office. Our goal is to be totally focused on defining and satisfying the patients’ needs with the least pain possible. One of our trained professionals meets the patient at the door rather than having the patient “check-in” at a front desk. From the time our patient arrives until they check out, they are in touch with a trained professional who is constantly working to make them feel at home in our office. We pride ourselves in clinical excellence, offering state-of-the-art services with a focus on the three pillars of our office process - Restore – Prevent and Maintain great dental health. In our office, we all work together as the patient’s team in satisfying their needs as painlessly as possible. Our assistants lend help to our hygienists and vice versa. We all work together to keep our office and processes running smoothly. We work to make the patient’s dental visit stress-free for ourselves as well as for our patients. We are looking for someone who wishes to be a member of a new way of operating a dental office, one that makes the patient want to seek our assistant rather than the traditional concept of always fearing going to the dentist. THE DOCTOR The doctor is a caring individual who promotes an environment of teamwork toward the common outcome of serving patient’s needs in the most effective way possible. He wants the patients experience to be different than the stereotypical environment that is expected. He expects those who are working in the office to have a professional attitude and be willing to do what is necessary to ensure the best possible patient experience while still maintaining as stress-free a work environment as possible. Working with our doctor means you will need to be self-directed but also be willing to understand and maintain the boundaries that have been established. to ensure the patient experience one that will remove the fear of future treatment. QUALIFICATIONS This person must be familiar with dental assistance responsibility but does not need previous experience. We are looking for someone with basic knowledge who has an attitude to work effectively in the Dental Assistant role. They must have a desire to learn and improve. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Dental Assistant will be responsible for general clinic administrative work and maintenance, as well as completing lab work under the direction of the dentist. The Dental Assistant’s primary responsibility is to prepare the examination rooms for appointments by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary equipment is ready for the dentist. The person filling this position will also assist the dentist during their procedures by handing the instruments and anticipating needs throughout the appointment. The Dental Assistant may also be responsible for greeting patients as they arrive, submitting billing details to the insurance company, and scheduling the patient’s next appointment before they leave the clinic. The Dental Assistant may also be required to collect money from the patient while in the office or to set up a payment plan using the software and processes provided by the office. The dental assistant may also be required to order supplies, monitor cases to insure on time delivery. Work with scheduling to ensure patients are ready for treatment when scheduled. Other duties and responsibilities include: • Update and maintain client’s dental records. • Take notes and build treatment plans for Doctor. • Perform routine dental cleanings and assist the dentist with complex dental procedures. • Take and process X-rays of patients. • Schedule patient appointments • Take billing and insurance details from patients. • Advise patients on recommended oral hygiene. • Maintains Electronic Digital Records (EDR) of the procedures in patients’ records. • Making sure all information is entered into the EDR before the patient is dismissed. • Collect funds as necessary and/or set patient on a payment plan. REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Skills and qualifications also include: • Customer service skills to ensure patients feel comfortable during their appointment as well as well-informed about treatment and dental wellness. • Technical and troubleshooting skills to work with a variety of dental, medical, scheduling, and other organization software in the office. • Organization skills to keep their workspace clean to ensure patients, dentists, and other assistants are safe and healthy while working. • Knowledge of dental instruments • Prior experience administering dental X-rays.
