We are an established two-doctor, patient-oriented general dentistry practice located in Los Gatos, CA looking for a part time dental hygienist for Tuesdays and Thursdays, and potentially other weekdays or half days. No pressure to sell dentistry The ideal candidate will be looking to join the practice long-term and foster compassionate relationships with patients, many of whose families have been with the practice for 40+ years. They will be people-oriented and have a positive attitude towards learning and dentistry. Job responsibilities: - Being a patient advocate and aiding in improving patient’s oral health by completing full mouth periodontal charting, performing dental prophylaxis/maintenance/ScRP procedures, fluoride tx, and conducting patient education - Completing notes in OpenDental with Autonotes to be adjusted to your preferences. - Communicating effectively with the dental team and dentists to coordinate and provide excellent patient care. The hygienist will work out of two operatories on average seeing 8 patients a day. - Take x-rays as prescribed - Educating patients on oral hygiene and its connection to overall health. Working with patients to understand and follow in-office COVID protocols and policies. Skills and Qualifications: - Must have active California RDH license, CPR training, x-ray license, infection control certification, and dental law and ethics certification - Positive attitude and great communication skills with dental team and patients - Computer skills and willingness to learn Open Dental Plusses, but not required - Verbal communication skills in Cantonese, Mandarin, or Vietnamese - Prior work experience with Open Dental To keep all employees and patients safe, we have added to our pre-COVID-19 sterilization and infection control protocols. Our new COVID-19 updates to the office include: - Extra-oral suction units and new system of high volume intra-oral suction units utilized during dental cleaning appointments to decrease aerosols - HEPA filters in operatories - Cold fogging of all office at beginning and end of work day, and cold fogging of operatories after each patient - Seats in the waiting room have been limited to three at 6ft apart. Patients are encouraged to wait in their own cars and enter when their appointment time begins. - Daily taking of temperature and completion of COVID-19 screening questions for all dental team and patients - Clinical staff PPE updates include addition of N95s and face shields on top of existing surgical gowns and surgical masks. PPE provided by office. - Front office to wear surgical masks and optional face shields. Plexiglass barriers are present at the front desk. - All individuals in the office must wear a face covering. What else you should know: - Salary: Starting at $53/hr based on experience - Benefits: Dental care covered by office (excluding lab fees) after 90 day probation period. After 1000 hours of employment within 12 months, you can enroll in an optional 401K and you will be eligible for the profit sharing plan. - Position schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays 8am-5pm with 1 hour lunch, with possibility of additional weekdays or half days based on office scheduling.
