Position Summary: Uphold the highest standards for the care of our patients. Ensure excellence in patient management, chair-side and lab/sterilization responsibilities. Anticipate the needs of the patients and dentists for efficient and effective care. Under direct and indirect supervision, the dental assistant will assist the dentist and hygienist in both clinical and administrative duties. Provide patient and practice support services; including, but not limited to, personal assistance, medical attention, and emotional support. Employee will work as a Dental Assistant. Responsibilities include but not limited to: • Maintain communication with the dentist, patient, and the front office staff to ensure that the patient receives the ultimate patient experience. • Obtain ordered radiographs during the appointment. • Assist the dentist chair-side during treatment procedures, maintain proper patient treatment records (updated and accurate medical history, consents and policy forms), and the ability to build a good rapport with our patients. • Anticipate each procedure to ensure all instruments and materials are immediately available to avoid leaving the chairside during procedures. • Accurately and efficiently set up and clean an operatory. • Keep supplies stocked and uncluttered in operatory for easy use. • Properly maintains operatory equipment (i.e., refilling water bottles, rinsing water lines daily and after surgical procedures). • Obtain vital signs (including blood pressure) and provide results to the doctor at the start of the appointment, as necessary • Maintain sterile technique during setup and completion of surgical procedures. • Take impressions and prepare them for the lab.
