Community Health Network is seeking a full-time mission-minded Registered Dental Hygienist that will provide exceptional oral hygiene, appropriate preventative care, and possess a strong desire to deliver outstanding care and education to Community Health Network’s patients and community. Your expertise will be embedded in an integrated care clinic that follows patient-centered medical home (PCMH) guidelines and principles. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Educates the community, patients, and family in oral health related conditions and in the general promotion of oral health related disease prevention. • Assists in the provision of continuing education, on-the-job training, and the orientation of CHN staff as requested. • Participates in short- and long-term program planning for the Dental department and the center including development of goals and objectives. • Assists in the coordination and integration of CHN’s dental programs and services with other programs and services for the welfare of CHN’s patients. • Ensures full compliance with all applicable federal, state, local and center, regulations, protocols, and procedures governing the practice of oral hygiene and the clinical provision of dental care; as well as those relating to, but not limited to workplace safety, public health, and confidentiality. • Provides clinical oral hygiene services including dental prophylaxis, scaling, sealant application, fluoride application, and exposing radiographs consistent with accepted professional practices and standards in compliance. • Obtains baselines oral hygiene assessment data based upon accepted principles of oral hygiene and periodontal care. • Performs independent procedures as delegated and directed by the Dental Director in accordance with state regulations and law as well as Dental Department protocols and directives CHN offers a competitive benefits package: • Progressive time-off • Competitive compensation • 401K with company matching. • Fully paid health and dental coverage • Ongoing training/development and access to a variety of resources and tools • 40 hour of annual CE and $1500 stipend • Eligibility to participate in HRSA’s Loan Forgiveness Program • And More! Education and Qualifications: • Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene, required Certificates, licenses, and registrations required: • Licensed as a Dental Hygienist by the State of Texas. • CPR Certification Computer skills required: • Microsoft Office • Open Dental (preferred) Other skills required/preferred: • At least 2 – 5 years of clinical experience, preferred but NOT required • Ability to be clinically fluent in Spanish preferred. • Knowledge of public health principles and practices preferred. • Ability to work with people of all socioeconomic levels. • Ability to maintain appropriate clinical privileges required. • Must be FTCA coverage or private professional malpractice insurance obtainable. • High ethical standards. • Must be a team player, well-organized and self-directed. • Excellent communication skills. • Ability to relate to people at all levels in the organization. • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. • Consumer advocate for quality health and dental care and services. • Ability to operate computer, copier, and fax machine.
