This single location pediatric practice is looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic team member to integrate into our already awesome team. Our practice environment is both fun and fast-paced. We’re passionate about helping you grow both personally and professionally as a member of our work family. Our dental assistants provide essential support to the practice and are responsible for assisting our two board certified pediatric dental specialists with patient treatment. Job Duties: (Not an Exhaustive List) Educate patients in oral hygiene instruction and provide postoperative instructions Prepare patient and rooms for examination and treatment Take quality digital x-rays Prepare tray set-ups for dental procedures Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment Clean chairs and rooms Assist professional dental staff with treatment: Document patient information, treatment plans, and procedures in patient chart Assist with suctioning, holding retractors and suture cutting during surgical procedures Responsible for adhering to all government regulations and company standards REQUIREMENTS: TN Dental Assistant’s License RDA Education, Training and/or Experience High school diploma or GED Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics High focus on customer service and satisfaction Must love working with children Compassion and high level of service for our patients, parents and staff Integrity, always doing the right thing Dependable, reliable to be at work when scheduled Attentive to detail Able to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines Professional demeanor and appearance at all times Certifications, Licenses, Registrations X-ray certification PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Coronal Polishing, Nitrous Monitoring, and Sealant Placement One year office experience in a dental or physicians office Experience with pediatric dentistry Bilingual PHYSICAL DEMANDS Nature of work requires an ability to effectively communicate and exchange information with patients, their parents, and staff. Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time; ability to lift/carry up to 30 pounds and be able to twist, turn, bend and stoop. WORKING CONDITIONS Majority of work performed in a clinical environment. Requires availability for posted hours during business week. (7:30-4:30, Monday - Thursday, occasional Friday. 28-36 hours per week. Hours may flex to meet the business needs and demand.
