Seeking a compassionate, dependable, independent, self-motivated, dedicated and punctual dental assistant with a strong work ethic to assist a dentist in providing excellent dental care to nursing home residents in the greater part of Houston. Must enjoy working with elderly and medically compromised nursing home residents. Compensation will range from $15 - $20 per hour commensurate with experience. Mileage and Tolls are reimbursed. Typical work hours will be from 7:30 am - 2:30 pm (or before). The dental assistant is expected to review and enter/upload progress notes on the same day. In addition, they are expected to work on administrative duties as well on non-clinical days. Primary responsibilities and requirements include but not limited to: • Must be able to carry and transport mobile dental equipment • Must be able to drive to nursing homes and possesses a dependable car as the dental assistant is expected to drive more than 1000 miles a month. • Must be compassionate and mission-driven and willing to interact with nursing home patients in a respectable manner • Willing to be flexible with hours and must be reliable, dependable, responsible, punctual and honest. • Must be able to sterilize instruments. • Must be able to handle each denture step under the supervision of a dentist. • Manage all dental supplies and work with dentists to place supply orders • Must possess good communication skills. • Must be able to call the patient’s responsible parties and inform them of dental visits and explain treatment plans. • Must be able to write progress notes to be signed by the treating dentist. • Must be able to handle all administrative tasks involving paperwork. • Must be vaccinated for Covid-19.
