We are a non-corporate, family owned practice that has been providing patients with excellent family cosmetic, restorative and preventative dentistry for more than 40 years. We provide a fun-loving environment that creates a positive and warm atmosphere for not only our patients but also for our staff. We consider staff to be family, and we throw periodic activities to reward and inspire all of our members. Turn-over is minimal and some of our staff members have been with us for 25+ years. We are looking for a positive Registered or Certified Dental Assistant to join our close-knit team 4.5 days a week. The ideal candidate will have a calm, reassuring and friendly demeanor as well as the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. This position will be cross trained to be able to answer phones, schedule appointments and assist the front desk if necessary. Job Description • Preparing patients for dental work • Assisting dentists with procedures by handling supplies and instruments as requested • Recording treatment information in patient records • Taking dental x-rays for dental diagnostics • Collecting and recording dental histories as well as overall health and medication history • Providing postoperative instructions as directed by the dentist • Cleaning/sterilizing operatories and setting up operatories for specific procedures • Sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays, and preparing materials • Forming preliminary impressions for study casts • Fabricating temporary restorations and custom impressions from preliminary impressions • Caring for dental equipment Minimum Qualifications • Registered Dental Assistant • X-ray Certification • Nitrous Oxide Certification • CPR Certification Minimum Requirements • Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology • Excellent communication and organizational skills • Takes initiative, self-motivated and able to work independently • Punctual, dependable and flexible
