REGISTERED DENTAL ASSISTANT SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: To provide clinical support to a state of the art General Dental Clinic and its team by providing chairside assistance to the dentists, taking radiographs, impressions, and ensuring infection control protocols are met. We are looking for a team-player who is looking to grow within a startup dental office! ESSENTIAL ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. · Expose, process, and evaluate dental radiographs · Monitor patients on nitrous oxide · Perform infection control and occupational safety procedures including sterilization and disinfection procedures. · Prepares patients for dental treatment by seating the patient, positioning the chair, and placing the bib. · Remove sutures placed by a licensed dentist · Prepares procedural trays and provides chair-side assistance · Apply topical anticariogenic agents to the teeth · Chart existing restorations and conditions as instructed by the dentist · Provide patient preventive education · Place and remove rubber dam · Select and prefit orthodontic bands · Take preliminary medical histories and vital signs to be reviewed by the dentist · Place and remove temporary separating devices · Take impressions for study casts or diagnostic casts · Take impressions for space maintainers, orthodontic appliances and occlusal guards · Place and remove matrix bands · Select and prefit provisional crowns · Remove periodontal dressings · Apply desensitizing agents to the teeth · Place orthodontic ligatures · Remove orthodontic archwires and ligature ties · Other dental supportive services authorized by the licensed dentist while under the direct personal supervision of the licensed dentist, provided that such other dental supportive services are not excluded · Performs other duties as requested.
