Description

This is a temporary / part time position for dental personnel to help our main team members. This is a good position for those needing to gain experience or those who would like to stay busy. Oral Surgery Assistant Responsibilities: Operating X-ray and 3D scanning equipment (will teach) for diagnosis. Preparing and sterilizing surgical instruments, materials, and equipment in accordance with infection control and biohazard protocols. Room turnover in an efficient, clean manner as per OSHA standards. Floating assistant during surgery, as needed. Providing patients with pre-op and post - operative instruction, as needed. Monitoring our stock of surgical supplies and medication and replenishing these, as needed. Ensuring that instruments and equipment are effectively maintained. Providing excellent patient care at all times. Front office responsibilities: Scanning and attaching documents to the patient chart Filing and creating charts Answering phones as per protocol Accurate Data entry Organizing charts for the week Oral Surgery Assistant Requirements: Reliability and attention to detail is a must for patient safety Willing to learn Registered dental assistant certification (RDA) At least four months of dental assisting experience is preferred A good understanding of surgery office responsibilities, health and safety protocols An excellent understanding of dental records, charts, and documentation Great organizational and time management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills The ability to provide excellent patient care, even under stressful circumstances. Consistent professionalism in appearance and attitude There are two office locations: Tuesday/Friday in Houston (77046) and Wednesday/Thursday (77478).
