We are growing!!! Our oral surgery practice is looking to add an additional seasoned treatment coordinator to add to our front office team. Role Overview Scheduling and presenting prescribed treatment plans, coordinating with other practices and referring doctors if necessary, organizing follow-ups on patients who require extended treatment, and prepare paperwork needed for successful and legal tracking of the treatment plan. Who You Are . Self-starter with exceptional patient-centered relational skills. . Strong background in treatment presentation with the ability explain dental and surgical procedures and their necessity. . Able to work independently with demonstrated multitasking and time-management skills. . Able to balance multiple competing priorities, self-direct, and meet deadlines. What You Will Do . Present treatment plans andamp; proposals to patients, explain treatment and educate patients on the importance of their necessary dental treatment, address concerns/questions, and establish a plan for scheduling and payment. . Confirm financial arrangements that authorize treatment to begin on a specific date with specified financial terms for the duration of treatment. . Calculate benefits by reviewing insurance verification and adjusting treatment plans accordingly. . Establish and maintain a trusting supportive relationship with new patients, contact and track patients who have pending and incomplete treatments, and follow up with patients on proposed treatment plans. . Keep track of the patient’s schedule and ensure treatment is timely. . Perform surgical check-ins, complete consent forms, obtain payments and schedule post-op as required. . Schedule hospital cases, determine eligibility, and confirm date of surgery with patient. . Request and follow up on medical clearances. . Perform day-to-day financial transactions including: balancing routing slips with payments and compare daily report to payments on dental software and Clover, processes phone-in and post-dated payments, create detailed invoices for billing, managing/requesting payments, tracking patient accounts receivable and outstanding balances to ensure timely payment, sending out claims and keeping accurate records for payment collections on all oral health services rendered by KCOFS. . Research, review, evaluate, and resolve billing process issues and revenue collections by following up on payer denials on behalf of the patient and practice. . Answer phones using a warm friendly voice, make appointments, screen and transfer calls to appropriate staff and handle referral office request e.g. PANO, letters, appointments. . Retrieve faxes, check e-mails voicemails, and respond promptly to inquiries and requests from the patients, staff, doctor, and referring offices. . Coordinate abutment crown appointments. . Uphold OSHA, HIPPA, CDC, COFS COVID protocols. . Maintain outpatient MRI, CT, and facility orders by obtaining pre-authorizations and keeping records. . Participate fully in staff development through morning huddles, staff meetings, continuing education courses, and evaluations. . Perform other duties, tasks, and responsibilities that may be assigned at any time. Required Skills/Abilities . Self-starter with exceptional patient-centered relational skills. . Able to work independently with demonstrated multitasking and time-management skills. . Able to balance multiple competing priorities, self-direct, and meet deadlines. . Excellent understanding of dental records, charts, and documentation. . Experience in a fast-paced, high-impact service environment. . Understanding of dental and medical coding. Education and Experience . High school diploma or equivalent. . Treatment Planning: 1 year (required) . Oral surgery experience: 1 year (preferred) . Knowledge of Open Dental management software. Physical Requirements . Able to remain in a stationary position 60% of the time. . Able to work on keyboard up to 6 hours a day. . Able to constantly operate a computer and other office products, such as a copy machine, printer, and telephone system. .
