The job of a Registered Dental Hygienist involves, you guessed it – preventative dentistry by providing excellent dental care to our patients, but it’s so much more. While you’re helping our patients with their preventative and dental hygiene needs, you will also be educating patients coming into our practice, ensuring complete and appropriate services for all of our patients. Just like everyone at every level in our practice, as the Registered Dental Hygienist, you’re tasked with providing the very best care for our patients. Your new job requirements include: • Ability to perform normal dental hygiene duties • Ability and desire to work with doctors and fellow hygienists to provide excellent periodontal care. • Excellent Presentation Skills • Ability to co-diagnose and deliver a tentative treatment plan • Ensure that client understands, commits and consents to treatment • Strong computer skills and experience working with Apple products and Microsoft Office Programs is a must • Proven track record of being punctual and reliable • Read and write English fluently • Have NYS local anesthesia and nitrous oxide license They come from all sorts of backgrounds, but some of things successful RDHs must have include: • Must be able to think on your feet, troubleshoot and address objections and be a creative problem solver • Must be comfortable and confident dealing with patients • Ability to set goals and create a plan to achieve them • Demonstrate creativity and resourcefulness • Be a person of high integrity • Strong employee motivation and development skills • Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team • Excellent preparation, follow-up and follow-through skills • Must be driven to provide an outstanding customer experience • Demonstrate experience with using intraoral scanners and cameras • Follow Office’s Standard of Care for Restorative and Periodontal treatment And most importantly: We highly prefer a Registered Dental Hygienist that has experience with Invisalign, Arestin, and other patient focused solutions. Qualifications: This is not for everyone so do not respond if you do not at least meet these requirements: • Minimum of 2-5 years of dental experience and have an active New York State Dental Hygienist License. • Must be goal oriented and be mentally and emotionally stable enough to help others. • Must have a pleasing personality, great smile, and great attitude. We are currently open four days a week, Monday through Thursday from 9am to 7pm to service both early morning patients and evening patients. Company Description Over 35 years ago, Dr. Matthew Scaffa began his journey to provide dental services to his local Staten Island community. His practice is a general dental office that provides full service dental care, everything from the basics to Invisalign® and dental implants. In 1999, the practice grew to the point that Dr. Scaffa needed to buy a bigger building, so in 2001 construction was completed on our current facility at 112 Foster Road. This new building provided more opportunities for growth and expanded the quantity and quality of care we were able to provide. This office currently has five active treatment rooms and can quickly get to seven active treatment rooms in less than 30 days. We are a 100% digital X-ray office, and every room has a dedicated x-ray sensor and x-ray unit. We upgraded to a new Practice Management software and have digitzed our dental records. The office works with many insurance companies to maximize patient benefits however we do not work with plans that we feel are not appropriate for our patients or our office. As such we do not participate with any traditional Medicare/Medicaid plans nor with DMOs, DHMOs, or low-reimbursing PPOs. The office sets annual goals for new patients, production, and collection metrics as well as for process improvement and better customer service. One of our more immediate goals is to hire more providers to support practice growth. Some of our 2024 goals include expanding to be available for our patients/community from 4 days per week to 5-6, transitioning to split shifts to provide better work/life balance and to accommodate our unique patient base and continue our annual average growth rate of 27% per year.
