Description

We love serving small smiles throughout South Texas! We are looking for an experienced RDA to join our Helotes team. The ideal candidate is someone whose technical achievements are matched by their enthusiasm and passion for pediatric dentistry. Under direct and indirect supervision, the RDA assists the Dentist in both administrative and clinical duties to include prepare patient for procedure or exam, sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials, and assist during dental procedures. This position will provide patient and practice support services, including, but not limited to, personal assistance, medical attention, and emotional support. Other duties include:  Assist with dental and medical emergencies according to OSHA and office procedures.  Maintains an active RDA license with Texas State Dental Board.  Maintain CPR certification  Obtain Nitrous certification.  Assist chair side during administration of nitrous oxide.  Instruct patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs.  Make preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusal registrations for mounting study casts.  Clean and polish removable appliances.  Review and record medical and dental histories and vital signs of patients.  Record treatment information in patient records.  Perform coronal polishing and sealant procedures on patients after meeting state board guidelines and office requirements and training.  Ensure that each operatory has the proper clinical forms and they are up to date and good quality.  Review and obtain patients medical clearances.  Review routing slips and chart notes for accuracy .  Take dental diagnostic x-rays.  Ensure all dental lab cases are in office and ready for delivery.  Dental assistant is prepared with proper instruments and necessary supplies in the operatory room.  Actively provide hand instruments and materials as needed during exams and procedures.  Using and maintaining hazard control protocols as established by OSHA and office standards.  Assist in post-operative, confirmation, and friendly reminder calls to patients.  Must always represent the practice in a professional, pleasant, and cooperative manner.  Maintain regular attendance and adhere to assigned work schedule and office policies.  Must be able to comfortably and efficiently handle multiple deadlines and task assignments.  Must be able to work both independently and cooperatively in team settings.  Occasionally there may be some travel, by car or plane, required in order to participate in continuing education, seminars, and errands related to the office.  Assisting in sister offices.  Perform routine equipment maintenance and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.  Obtain hospital credentialing at hospital sites the company attends to.  Community outreach and marketing.  Other duties and tasks, as assigned periodically.
