A hygienist educates patients regarding their health while getting and keeping them healthy. As we know, our health declines over time and it is the hygienist’s job to take perio records regularly to be able to assess the level of gingival health. The hygienist aids in co-diagnosing, not only the type of cleaning, but also any dental treatment that needs to be addressed. Our hygienists are paid on a base salary and have daily production goals on which they bonus. There are multiple opportunities for growth through continuing education once you are grooved into the office. About us: At Alana K Macalik, DDS we create healthy, confident smiles while ensuring every patient has an amazing experience. We are a private, fee-for-service office that focuses more on patient care than on pleasing and catering to insurance companies. We believe in one hour hygiene visits and two-hour new patient appointments to allow time to get to know our patients and their dental needs. Our goal is to help patients avoid needing dental work through the act of prevention. We aim to be a pillar in the Arlington community through helping people with their dental health. We are looking to add someone to our strong hygiene team to allow us to grow and help more patients. As a dental team, we aim to have a fun and driven environment so we can continue to grow. Objectives: We are looking for a hygienist to join our team for two days a week, with the potential of building up to four days a week within the first year. Hygienists will be prepared for each appointment by reviewing the patient’s charts prior to them coming in and asking about any family members that we could see in our office. Follow perio protocol for our office to correctly assess the type of cleaning and maintenance the patient needs Correctly educate the patients about need for exams and xrays regularly to properly assess their dental health Recommend additional products or services that would help patients have a healthier or more confident smile. Correctly document all that happened in the patient visit and outline next steps for the patient. Clearly and effectively communicating patient’s next steps to the patient and to the scheduling and treatment coordinators. Competencies: We don’t just want someone who can clean teeth, we want someone who can correctly and thoroughly clean teeth and genuinely care for the patient. We have an amazing team and we are hoping to add someone who fits in well. Education: Must have active Texas dental hygiene license and be able to practice in the state of Texas. Must hold current healthcare provider CPR registration
