Job Description for Insurance Coordinator This “attention to detail” position provides in-depth support for all insurance related duties of the office. This position is responsible for working with the billing center to coordinate and process insurance payments, verifications, coordination of benefits, and ongoing communications with insurance carriers. Great interpersonal skills are required to build rapport with the patients, staff and insurance carriers. Education Requirements High School Diploma or Equivalent BLS Certification Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and diagnosis Greet patients Responsible for insurance verifications and accurate communications to staff and patients regarding the insurance coverage. Ensures coordination of benefits are accurate and considered as part of the financial planning. Makes definite financial agreements with each patient in accordance with office policy. Submit supporting documents for insurance claims. Excellent attention to detail & ability to stay current with policy changes. Explain the treatment plan, address patient concerns and answer any questions. Answer phones in a professional manner and transfer calls or take messages when needed. Operate multi-line telephone system with heavy call volume Schedule and coordinate appointments for the doctor. General administration tasks, such as photocopying, scanning, faxing, printing and sorting/filing/sending forms. Coordinate patient scheduling and flow throughout the day and pull charts of scheduled patients
