Prepare treatment room by adhering to protocols and procedures • Prepare patient by
welcoming, seating, soothing and draping them upon entering the office,
providing a welcoming air to what can be a distressing experience for some.• Answer
questions to give additional information to other employees and patients about oral
health care.• Maintain and clean all instruments after every patient, keeping them
sharp and sterile to limit patient discomfort.• Clean stains and deposits from
teeth and under gum margins according to rules of dental prophylaxis. • Apply
topical fluoride.• Demonstrate and educate patients on proper Oral Hygiene
Techniques.• Take high quality digital radiographs and CT scans.• Take extra and
intraoral photographs. • Administer local anesthetic and do Root Planing and
Perioscopy.• Watch for disease by visually examining gums, probing for periodontal
disease and screening for oral cancer.• Document services by recording and updating
dental and medical histories,accurate periodontal charting. • Maintain dental
supplies inventory in your room and office by checking stock and reporting items
that need to be procured.• Maintain patient confidentiality.
Required:• Associate degree in dental hygiene.• State licensure for dental
hygienist.• 1-2 years’ experience working in a dental office.• Stamina,
interpersonal skills and attention to detail Preferred:• Certification in
administering local anesthetic.• Previous experience in a Periodontal office
helpful but not required. • CPR certified.
