Days: four-day week, alternating Wednesdays and Fridays off, and no Saturdays Benefits: offer health insurance, PTO and 401(k); paid CEs; scrubs allowance; bonus system; in-office discount plan Patient Management • Care o greet, guide and seat patients; then escort from room after treatment o ensure patients are always attended to, and answering their questions thoroughly before they leave, giving instruction and demonstrating as necessary o chart patients and record date, service rendered and any charges o monitor patient flow • Treatment o obtain and review health histories, verify treatment consent forms are signed, and take blood pressure and pulse readings o take diagnostic dental radiographs and intra-oral pictures o take impressions of dental arches and pour and trim study casts o mix dental materials and fabricate temporary restorations o anticipate and assist dentist’s needs o perform other clinical procedures as directed by the dentist Supplies Management and Laboratory and Sterilization • Keep dental units and treatment rooms ready, stocked and clean • Disinfect treatment rooms according to OSHA regulations • Set up treatment rooms for procedures, and keep trays, instruments and equipment organized and sterilized as applicable • Promptly send out and monitor all dental laboratory cases • Implement preventive maintenance and cleaning schedule for equipment • Monitor inventory and order dental office supplies as needed Records Management • Track cases and referrals to and from other doctors • Assist in the administration of re-care system Office Participation • Help in other areas of the office as necessary, e.g., answering phones, calling patients, verifying insurance and unpacking supplies • Marketing, external and internal • Be active in team meetings and promote team concept by interacting with others in the office Qualifications • Education: Post-secondary certificate from an accredited program • Compliance: with state dental practice requirements, e.g., radiography certification, OSHA training, CE attendance, etc.
