Front Desk: Professional. Team Player. Outgoing. Self-motivator. Experience with Open Dental. Good communication skills for a private family dental practice. Dental insurance skills needed. Job Duties: • File insurance claims and verifying insurance benefits. • Handle requests for additional information from insurance companies. • Post insurance payments. • Handle patient payments – both check and credit card. • Make financial arrangements as needed. • Able to work with Care Credit. • Update insurance information as needed in Open Dental. • Process secondary insurance claims. • Prepare paperwork for preauthorization. • Prepare the bank deposit. • Present treatment to patients. • Follow-up on incomplete treatment. • Make sure the doctor and hygiene schedules are full and confirmed. • Handle emergency patients calling into the office. • Answer the phone and check office e-mail. • Verify answering machine message is current. • Follow up on unpaid dental claims. • Generate and mail statements. • Process requests for patient refunds. • Notify assistants and hygienist of any changes in the schedule. • Manage “can come sooner” call list. • Take inventory of administrative supplies. • Keep calendar of staff birthdays. • Keep calendar of office and doctor activities. • Order food for staff meetings. • Work with other specialist offices. • Liaison for IT support if needed. • Scan all specialist letters and x-rays. • Update necessary patient information. • Notify clinical staff of patient arrival. • Make sure patients leave with recall appointment. • Schedule Lunch and Learns. • Send new patient and referral letters. • Decorate the office for the holidays.
