Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dental team with various clinical and administrative tasks. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, procedures, and patient management, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow within the clinic. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following infection control protocols. Take dental X-rays, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, confirming, and rescheduling as necessary. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Handle dental clinic administrative tasks such as managing EMR systems (Carestack, Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic). Support pediatric dentistry by creating a welcoming environment for young patients. Monitor vital signs and assist in medical imaging when required. Stay updated on dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and aseptic techniques to ensure high-quality patient care. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is required Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality. Experience in chairside assisting, including proficiency in general dentistry procedures. Ability to perform medical documentation accurately and maintain organized medical records. Chairside assisting E.G: Crown prep, temp crown fabrication, composite, endo, simple oral surgery, sterilization of instruments Understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques. Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus; familiarity with prosthodontics and endodontics is beneficial. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
