Description

We are a busy oral and maxillofacial surgery practice dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care in a professional, supportive environment. Our team values collaboration, communication, and compassion as well as growth opportunities for our staff. As a surgical assistant, you will support the surgeon and clinical team by preparing patients for oral surgical procedures, assisting chair-side during surgery, managing post-operative care and ensuring all instruments and equipment are appropriately managed and maintained. Key Responsibilities: • Prepare the operatory and surgical trays: set-up instruments, supplies and equipment. • Assist the surgeon chair-side during surgical procedures • Monitor patient vital signs and assist in preparation and recovery • Take and process radiographs or CBCT scans as directed • Clean, sterilize and organize instruments and operatories according to infection-control and OSHA protocols • Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient education and instructions • Maintain and update patient records, ensure data entry is accurate and timely • Assist with inventory management: restocking supplies and maintaining equipment Qualifications & Skills • High school diploma or equivalent(required) • Certification in dental assisting(RDA Texas), or completion of a dental assisting program(required) • Oral surgery experience preferred • Current CPR/BLS certification • Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment and remain calm under pressure • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to anticipate surgeon and patient needs • Physical ability to perform required duties What We Offer • Competitive salary based on experience • Ongoing professional and development and continuing education • A supportive, collaborative team culture • Health insurance opportunity/ 401(k) / paid time off and holidays How To Apply Please submit your resume and cover letter to [sign in to DentalPost to see current contact info] , with the subject line “Surgical Assistant-Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.” Please Highlight your relevant experience, certifications, and why you are interested in joining our team.
