Description
We’re looking for a reliable, friendly, and cheerful Dental Assistant to join our growing team at Downtown Bellevue Dental! Requirements: Minimum 1-2 years of dental Assistant experience (required) Experience with Dentrix Ascend (preferred) Strong communication and organizational skills Responsibilities include: 1. Preparing and Sterilizing Instruments: Clean and sterilize dental instruments after each use. 2. Assisting During Procedures-Assist the dentist during dental procedures by handing instruments, managing suction, and providing other necessary support.Ensure the patient's comfort during treatment. 3. Patient Care - Prepare patients for exams by making them comfortable in the dental chair, placing bibs, and setting up trays.Take and record medical histories, including allergies or any concerns. Monitor patients' vital signs, such as blood pressure and heart rate, before or during treatment. 4. Taking X-Rays-Take dental radiographs (X-rays) under the dentist’s supervision. Develop X-rays and ensure that they are properly stored in the patient’s record. 5. Administrative Tasks -Schedule appointments for patients and manage the office calendar. Maintain patient records and ensure that charts are updated. Billing and insurance paperwork, including submitting claims and verifying patient insurance information. 6. Infection Control -Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by following infection control protocols. Ensure all equipment and surfaces are properly disinfected to maintain a sterile environment. 7. Patient Education - Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-treatment care, and preventive care practices. Provide information on the proper use of dental products (e.g., toothbrushes, floss). 8. Lab Work Assistance -Assist in preparing impressions for dental casts or molds. Assist in the creation of temporary crowns, bridges, or dentures in the dental lab (if applicable). 9. Preparing Materials - Mix dental materials, such as fillings, cements, or impressions, under the dentist's instructions. 10. Managing Emergencies-Be ready to assist in dental emergencies, whether it's providing first aid or helping to manage more severe cases (e.g., trauma). 11. Keeping Records and Inventory-Maintain an inventory of dental supplies, including ordering new stock when necessary.Keep records of sterilization and infection control procedures. 12. Maintaining Professional Standards-Stay current with dental technology, procedures, and industry standards. May need to complete continuing education to maintain licensure or certifications. Ensure that all tools and materials needed for a procedure are ready and organized.
