Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant with an X-ray license to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support our clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with various dental procedures, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced setting that values professionalism, technical expertise, and compassionate patient interactions. Prior experience with Open Dental or Dentrix is highly desirable, along with a strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and medical documentation will be considered a plus. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to aseptic techniques and radiation safety standards Perform chairside assisting including four-handed dentistry techniques and vital signs monitoring Operate digital imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and medical imaging devices Manage patient records using EMR systems like Open Dental/Dentrix while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care Maintain infection control standards through proper sterilization and sanitation procedures Document medical history, dental terminology, and clinical notes accurately in medical records Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing medical documentation Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic environment is required; familiarity with dental assisting duties is essential Proficiency in dental software systems including Open Dental, Dentrix is preferred Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, and medical records management is advantageous Experience with pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is a plus Certification or licensure for X-ray operations in accordance with state regulations is mandatory Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques in a clinical setting Ability to communicate effectively using dental terminology and explain procedures to patients of all ages This position offers an engaging work environment where technical skills meet compassionate patient care.
